UAE created biggest a history by making biggest natural flower carpet on Friday as part of the National Festival of Tolerance and Human Fraternity. 5,000 volunteers from 150 nationalities worked behind this achievement.
Through ‘Flowers of Tolerance’ the Ministry of Tolerance had an attempt to break the Guinness World Record of producing the largest carpet of natural flowers in the world with the help volunteers. The flower carpet displayed major landmarks and heritage of the UAE and participants’ countries and symbols of the Year of Tolerance.
This initiative held at the outdoor parking of the Dubai Festival City mall and aims to promote the values of tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity based on the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. All Kerala Colleges Alumni Forum (AKCAF) Events and Globerz Entertainments organised the event for the Ministry of Tolerance.
22 types of flowers were imported from India, Kenya and other countries to create flower carpet that primarily saw the use of marigold orange, yellow and some variety of white flowers said Anoop Anil Devan, general convenor of the event. Most of the participants were from the south Indian state of Kerala where making a flower carpet is an integral part of the celebrations of the Onam.
There held a tolerance parade at the site late on Friday featuring people wearing ethnic dresses from different countries.
