UAE: FTA Opens Pre-Registration for Corporate Tax through EmaraTax Platform

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has introduced an early registration for corporate tax through the EmaraTax platform for digital tax services, according to the taxation law, specifying that the Taxable Persons would be affected by the Corporate Tax from the beginning of their first financial year, that is during June 2023.

The Authority stated that the early registration period would be from January 2023 to May 2023 for specific categories of companies operating in the UAE. These companies would receive invitations from the FTA by email and SMS, enabling them to register via the EmaraTax platform.

Next, the FTA would declare when registration would open for other companies and businesses. The FTA ensures sufficient time for companies and businesses to apply for registration and meet their legal obligations. When registration begins, companies and businesses starting their financial year on 1 June 2023 would be given priority.
